Who we are

What we collect

Only what you type into a form. There are seven on this site, and between them they ask for:

• Who you are, your name, and the business name if you are one.
• How to reach you, phone and/or email.
• Where, the suburb, community or area the work is in.
• What you need, a description of the job, the trade, or the enquiry.
• For a Hub listing, your tagline, services, what you want said about your business, and who is filling the form in.
• For the survey, your answers. You can leave it entirely anonymous; nothing on it is required.

Nothing is required beyond what a given form marks as required, and we do not ask for anything we do not need to answer you.

Measuring our own pages

We count what is used on this site so we can tell which pages help and which do not. We do it ourselves, with our own small script on our own server. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no third-party tracker of any kind.

What a page view records: the page path, whether a phone or email link was tapped, whether a form was started or submitted, mobile or desktop, the site you arrived from (the site name only, never the full address), and a two-letter country code.

What it does not record: no cookie, no advertising identifier, no IP address, no device fingerprint, and nothing that can be tied back to you. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing here that needs consent.

Why we collect it

To answer you, to quote or arrange the work, and to keep the records a licensed contractor has to keep. Hub listing details are collected to build your page, and nothing is published until you have seen it and agreed.

We do not send marketing you did not ask for.

Where it goes

Into our own database, on our own infrastructure. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it, and we never will.

Enquiries and page measurements are kept in two separate databases on purpose, so that one can never interfere with the other. It is shared only where the work needs it, with a listed business if your enquiry is for them, with a supplier or subcontractor where a job requires it, or with our accountant, insurer or a regulator where the law requires it.

Where it is stored. This site runs on Cloudflare, and our databases are set to the Oceania region, so your enquiry is held here in this part of the world. Because Cloudflare operates a worldwide network, it may also be held on its servers outside Australia. We use no other overseas service for your information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and job records for seven years, which is what tax and contractor record-keeping requires. Page measurements are aggregate counts with nothing personal in them, so they are simply kept. Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless a law says we have to hold it.

How we keep it secure

The site is served over an encrypted connection, so anything you type into a form is encrypted in transit. It lands in a database that is not reachable from the public internet, only our own code can write to it, and only from this site.

Access is limited to the people who need it to do the work. Enquiries and page measurements are held separately, so a problem with one cannot expose the other. Forms are rate-limited and screened to keep automated abuse out. If anything ever did go wrong in a way that put you at risk, we would tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.

Your rights, access, correction and deletion

Access. Ask us what personal information we hold about you and we will tell you, and send you a copy.

Correction. Tell us something is wrong or out of date and we will correct it.

Deletion. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless a law requires us to keep it.

No charge, no forms to fill in, and no need to give a reason.
